The Library has been carefully preparing the library to be a safe space for staff and patrons. This has been a difficult process because our library is designed for socializing! We are excited to announce that the library re-opened on July 6.
We have new guidelines that must be followed to ensure we can successfully re-open and stay open. Please carefully read the following details of our changes and new guidelines.
Hours- The Logan library has new hours. Also, both branches will reserve hours for the Senior and High Risk populations.

The following measures are being implemented to make the library the safest possible space during this pandemic:
- Staff will be wearing masks or visors, as mandated by the governor
- Masks or visors are required to be worn by patrons while they are in the library. This decision was made with a lot of deliberation with care and concern, and it was decided that due to the uniqueness of the library environment, requiring masks was essential for safety of patrons and staff.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a parent.
- Additional sanitizing and cleaning will be performed throughout the day.
- Returned books are held for 72 hours before checking in and shelving.
- A limited number of individuals will be allowed in the buildings at one time.
- Physical barriers have been set up between staff and patrons.
- Furniture in other areas of the library have been re-arranged or removed to comply with the social distancing mandate.
- Toys and select furniture has been removed in the children’s area and the children’s computer are has been closed to comply with social distancing mandate.
- Computer time and availability are limited in order to meet the required state guidelines for social distancing and sanitizing between uses.
- Curbside Service by appointment will continue at the Main Library.
- Curbside Service at Laurelville will be per patron request.
- Meeting/Conference rooms are closed, but will be utilized by staff for social distancing and projects.
- No in-person programs. (Virtual programs will continue)
